Be Conscious to Maintain Gratitude. To Feel Instead of Think. ONLY Think, Say, Write and Feel Positive. It WILL Change Your Life!
February 4, 2004 when Mark Zuckerberg launched the first version of Facebook in his Harvard dormitory room. He recalled in January 2014:
"I remember really vividly, you know, having pizza with my friends a day or two after—I opened up the first version of Facebook at the time I thought, "You know, someone needs to build a service like this for the world.".
In the startup stages in building Facebook Zuckerberg encountered a lot of challenges. He faced lawsuits for complaints about misleading on helping students to build a social network called Harvardconnection.com. The lawsuit against him resulted in a settlement.
In 2005 during his sophomore years, he made the decision to drop out of Harvard to complete his project. He said:
"It took me five minutes to decide that I was going to drop out"
In 2006 Yahoo offered to buy facebook for $1,000,000,000. But he refused to sell it. He recalled saying:
"It's not because of the amount of money. For me and my colleagues, the most important thing is that we create an open information flow for people. Having media corporations owned by conglomerates is just not an attractive idea to me."
Immediately after turning down Yahoo's offer, there were a large number of stories questioning the decision. Peter Thiel, Facebook's board member, recalled the naysayers said stuff like:
"How could you have a CEO who didn't know you should sell the company?"
"This is what you get when you have a CEO who is only 22 years old."
Majority of his team stopped believing in his idea. And soon the entire management team left the company. He could have easily quit. But he believed in his idea and hired a new team.
Today facebook is the most widely used social network in the world. Zuckerberg also said:
"But I just never thought that we'd be the ones to help do it. And I think a lot of what it comes down to is we just cared more."
As of May 2017, Mark Zuckerburg is ranked by Forbes as the 5th richest person in the world.
He gave his address at Harvard’s 366th Commencement on May 25, 2017 at Tercentenary Theatre. In his speech he said:
"We’ve all started lifelong friendships here, and some of us even families. That’s why I’m so grateful to this place. Thanks, Harvard."
He had a definitive view about the future that is now a big part of the computer programming and internet entrepreneurship history, being one of the founders of Facebook. He also said:
"I remember the night I launched Facebook from my little dorm in Kirkland House. I went to Noch’s with my friend KX. I remember telling him I was excited to connect the Harvard community, but one day someone would connect the whole world."
For the same reason being someone with goals to achieve, using your sense of feeling, seeking gratitude and maintaining a positive mind is all you need to be succesful! You can start slowly by using positive formulation of words and sentences. It will change your life!
